Kodaňská 1441 has entered another important phase of its preparation. This week, the second competition meeting took place as part of the international urban planning and architectural competition, which is part of the preparation of the future shape of this important area in Prague 10.

It built on the previous stages of the competition and further advanced the professional debate on the development of the site between Kodaňská, Kavkazská and Moldavská streets. It is here that a new urban area is to be created, which will sensitively build on the structure of Vršovice and bring quality housing, services, amenities and a kindergarten.

Eleven architectural teams from different countries participated in this phase. Specifically, these were Studio Reaktor, Mecanoo, Stefano Boeri Architetti, Pelčák and partner architects, OODA, Powerhouse Company, Schindler Seko architects, Machar Teichman Architects, Mandaworks, UAB DO ARCHITECTS and Barely Levitzky Kassif Architects.

This part of the competition provided a space for the presentation of individual proposals, their comparison and further elaboration of suggestions that will help to determine the most appropriate direction for the further development of the project. It also confirmed the importance of open professional dialogue, which is essential in the preparation of such large-scale urban projects.

Kodaňská 1441 is being built in cooperation with the City of Prague and the Prague 10 district. It is the connection between the public and private sectors that creates the framework for the creation of a project that has the ambition to positively influence the shape of this part of the city for decades to come.

The next steps of the competition will now lead to the evaluation of the submitted proposals and the selection of the solution that best fulfils the expectations for the creation of a modern, lively and long-term sustainable urban structure.
