A new chapter for Vršovice is taking shape.

Eleven architectural teams from the Czech Republic and across Europe have been selected to design a new urban block for the Kodaňská 1441 site in Prague - transforming the area of today’s Kodaňská 4D Center into a vibrant, contemporary city district.

From 65 international applications, the jury - composed of representatives of the investor, the City of Prague, Prague 10, and independent experts - chose teams with proven experience in large-scale urban and architectural projects. The competition now moves into its first phase, where participants will develop initial concepts for the future of this part of Vršovice.

The ambition is clear: to create a living, sustainable urban block that offers high-quality housing alongside thoughtfully designed public spaces that connect naturally with the surrounding neighborhood.

In February, the selected teams will meet in Prague for the first workshop and site exploration. Concept proposals will be presented in April, followed by more detailed designs in the second round, with the winning proposal to be selected later this year.

Kodaňská 1441 is not just a project. It is a dialogue between architecture, the city, and the people who will shape its future.
