The plots of land, covering an area of more than 10,000 m², which Daramis provided to the Prague 9 Municipal District, are now home to a new primary school and nursery with capacity for more than 200 children. The project is thus taking shape and providing the area with facilities that will have a direct impact on the everyday lives of local families.
A new branch of the Na Balabence Primary and Nursery School was officially opened in Zelené Město on 1 September. The new school significantly expands the community facilities in this rapidly developing area and provides local families with the opportunity to access education right on their doorstep.
The building provides facilities for one nursery class and five primary school classes. The speed of the entire project is also noteworthy – the foundation slab was laid in December 2025 and, within just eight months, the entire school building was completed, including landscaping of the surrounding area.
Among other things, the use of prefabricated components and dry construction methods enabled the project to be completed quickly. The design also placed an emphasis on the comfort of children and staff, acoustics, high-quality lighting, ventilation and technologies ensuring a pleasant environment throughout the year.
The establishment of the new school is a response to the natural development of Zelené Město, where the number of new households and families with children has been increasing in recent years. It is precisely the availability of schools, nurseries, services and other infrastructure that is essential for a residential area to develop in the long term as a fully-fledged neighbourhood.
The grand opening was attended by representatives of the Prague 9 Municipal District, the implementation team and the project’s partners. Our thanks go to Metrostav, the Mayor of Prague 9, Mgr. Tomáš Portlík, the entire implementation team and everyone who contributed to the creation of the new educational facilities.
At Daramis, we have long viewed quality housing within a broader context. It is not just the residential development itself that matters, but also the environment, infrastructure and services that affect residents’ everyday lives.
The new primary and nursery school therefore represents an important part of Zelené Město’s continued natural development. We are delighted that the area is gaining new facilities that will serve local families and future generations of children.
